Shipping & Delivery Policies

Shipping wine is a complicated and often expensive process. Please read the information below before completing a shipping order to ensure you understand the process. If you have questions, we are happy to walk you through any or all of the process if you email Stacey at hello@parallelpdx.com.

We currently do not ship the monthly wine clubs, but are able to make exceptions on a case by case basis.

Title and ownership on all Wine passes to the buyer at the time of purchase

If you require that your wine be shipped, you authorize Parallel Food & Drink (“Seller”) to engage a common carrier to deliver the wine on your behalf.  You must be 21 years of age to order or receive alcoholic beverages from Seller. Any shipments containing alcoholic beverages are sent with an "Adult Signature Required", and the common carrier that delivers our merchandise may be required to ask and check for identification upon delivery, which may require you to be home in order to accept delivery. Wine shipments must be signed for by an adult at least 21 years old; it cannot be left at the door. We highly recommend shipping to a business address where someone is always available to sign if possible. Carriers also tend to charge more for delivery to residential addresses.

Buyer takes all responsibility for the product being transported to the buyer’s selected destination. Buyer may pick up the product at Seller’s location or make independent delivery arrangements. Wines sold to you from Seller is sold in Oregon, and title passes to you, the buyer, in Oregon. We make no representations concerning your legal right to ship or receive wine into any state outside Oregon. The buyer is responsible for compliance with their State Laws regarding wine import and taxation.

Interstate Shipping

Many states have laws prohibiting or severely restricting the shipment of wine into their states from elsewhere in the country, these laws are continually changing and may affect our ability to ship to you. 

As of October 2023, we are unable to ship to the following states: AL, AR, DE, MS, RI, UT, HI. UPS is our primary shipping provider. We may also use a Third Party Shipper depending on which state you are ordering from.

Local delivery

Our wine clubs and most special orders are available by pickup only. In some cases, we are able to make exceptions and are able to provide local delivery. Delivery would be at a time mutually agreeable to the recipient and Parallel. After wine is ordered, Parallel will reach out to the buyer to schedule. If the website incorrectly calculated delivery during the order, additional charges may apply. Parallel delivers to Portland for $10 and the metro area for $20. Additional charges may apply to orders to more than three cases. Some locations in the metro area too far for delivery will be shipped via UPS. Most locations in Oregon ship overnight. Pricing & Local Delivery Zones

Delivery is currently $10 in Portland for up to 36 bottles. Portland suburbs are $20.

Age Requirements

We require age verification prior to checkout. Matching shipping and billing details are also required prior to order fulfillment.

Repeated Delivery Attempts

Parallel will confirm all order fulfillments and delivery details with you once we have received your order. If your shipment is returned to us due to failure to receive your delivery, Parallel will contact you to arrange a second attempt. Additional shipping and handling fees may apply for each attempt beyond the initial delivery attempt.

Weather

Wine can be damaged in transit by extreme temperatures, hot or cold. We often cannot ship in the summer and winter; the best times to ship are the spring and fall. If the temperatures here in Oregon, at the shipping address, or along the shipping route are above 80 degrees or below 32 degrees, we will not ship your order. If you choose ground shipping and authorize us to ship in questionable weather, we cannot replace your wine nor refund your money if it is damaged by heat or cold. If your order cannot be shipped safely, we will hold your shipment until conditions improve.

Order Tracking

If being shipped via UPS, you will receive tracking information once your shipping label has been created. Your tracking number and links to track your package are included. If tracking info does not come to you, call or email us and we'll track your package for you.

Returns and Cancellations

Wine may not be returned without authorization from Parallel.  We will notify you via email of your refund once we have received and processed the returned wine. Please note that we will refund shipping costs only if the return is a result of our error. If a shipment is returned to us because no one was available to sign for it, the return shipping and re-shipping costs will be the responsibility of the customer.
